Despite being just one point behind leaders Botafogo, Red Bull Bragantino coach Pedro Caixinha remains cautious in avoiding openly discussing the possibility of winning the Brazilian league title.
After the 1-0 victory over Corinthians this Sunday, November 5, Massa Bruta reached 58 points in the Brasileirão standings. Meanwhile, Botafogo, who will take to the field against Vasco on Monday 6 November, are ahead with 59 points.
– Our title is the next game. Our work is always focused on the next match – said Caixinha in the press conference after the duel with Timão.
The coach also clarified that he and the team have set an objective in terms of points until the next international break, scheduled to start on 13 November.
During this period, the club will face two more challenges, against Sao Paulo and Botafogo.
While Caixinha did not reveal the specific target, he stressed that if it is achieved, players will be rewarded with an additional day of rest during the league’s break for World Cup qualifying matches.
– We are very satisfied with our average points. Players know very well what has been determined by FIFA Date, so they will be able to have an extra day of recovery, instead of four and five.
