Abel Ferreira surpasses Tite and Diniz in the election as the best coach in the world

Abel Ferreira, of Palmeiras, was among the 15 best coaches in the world in an election promoted by the English magazine FourFourTwo and published this Monday (6). In today’s ranking of the 50 best coaches, the Portuguese placed 14th, overtaking Fernando Diniz (22nd) and Tite (29th), the only Brazilians mentioned.

At the top of the list is the Spaniard Pep Guardiola, of Manchester City. Jürgen Klopp (Liverpool) and Carlo Ancelotti (Real Madrid) form the Top3. Mikel Arteta (Arsenal), Thomas Tuchel (Bayern), Eddie Howe (Newcastle), Xavi (Barcelona), Roberto de Zerbi (Brighton), Unai Emery (Aston Villa) and Diego Simeone (Atlético de Madrid) complete the top ten.

Abel remained the best Portuguese in the standings, one place ahead of the Italian José Mourinho, current Roma manager.




Last week, the coach took stock of his time in Brazilian football. And he surprised by leaving his future open. The contract with the Alviverde club expires in December 2024, but Palmeiras’ goal is to keep it until 2027, if Leila Pereira is re-elected next year.
