A former child actor who most notably played Jack Bauer’s nephew on Season 6 of 24h Chrono and was also seen on CSI: Miami, Evan Ellingson has died at the age of 35 at his home in San Bernardino.

The information on the site has been confirmed TMZ by his father, who confided that he had long struggled with addiction problems but had recently recovered. Although the circumstances surrounding his death are unclear, foul play is not suspected.

Born on July 1, 1988 in Los Angeles, Evan Ellingson began his career as a young actor in the TV movie Doubt in the Heart at the age of 12. Between 2000 and 2002, he appeared in ten episodes over two seasons in the TV series Titus, which follows the daily life of Christopher Titus and his family between an alcoholic father and a simpleton brother.

In 2007, he played Josh Bauer in nine episodes, the nephew of Kiefer Sutherland’s character, in the series 24h Chrono. After several small roles (including one in Clint Eastwood’s Letters from Iwo Jima, in which he plays a young marine), Evan Ellingson is best known for his recurring role as Kyle Harmon, son of Lt. Horatio Kane and Julia Winston. Experts: Miami for which he starred in 18 episodes over three years.

After playing the role of Cameron Diaz’s son in the movie My Life for Yours, Evan Ellingson left the set and never returned. In 2008, he tragically lost his brother who died of a heroin overdose.
