One of the fugitives after the kidnapping of a teenager is killed and another arrested; the victim is released after almost 13 hours of captivity
Two fugitive men, involved in the kidnapping of a 14-year-old teenager in Caxias do Sul, were identified on Friday (10). The action took place in two houses in Fazenda Souza, with the Military Brigade (BM) and the 4th Assault Battalion operating. One of the suspects was killed in a clash and another was arrested, joining the man arrested on Thursday (09), the day of the kidnapping.
The person arrested on Friday is 25 years old and had a history of bodily harm and threats, while the deceased fugitive, 28, had a history of drug trafficking, receiving stolen goods, illegal possession of a firearm and robbery. The first suspect arrested, also 28, has a history of causing bodily harm and negligent injury while driving a motor vehicle.
The police operation, which began on Thursday, led to the location of the couple’s discovery, seven kilometers from the place where the teenager was held. The kidnapping lasted almost 13 hours, with the criminals demanding R$100,000 for the victim’s release.
On Thursday, police located the Celta used in the crime, which led to the identification of the prisoner and the arrest of the first suspect. After the other two kidnappers fled into a nearby bush, a siege began with the participation of the 12th BPM’s Tactical Force, Assault Battalion and BOPE.
The teenager was kidnapped from the school minibus in the neighborhood of São Cristóvão, in the Ana Rech region. He was released unharmed on Thursday evening, his 14th birthday, and was reunited with his family.
