Matthew Perry: actor’s death certificate released; view details

However, the document revealed by the Department of Public Health does not clarify the cause of the ‘Friends’ star’s death

Nearly two weeks after the death of 54-year-old Matthew Perry, the actor’s death certificate was released by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.

The document shows the time of death of the interpreter of the character Chandler Bing from the series Friends she was found at her home at 4.17pm on 28 October. The certificate, however, does not clarify the cause of her death, which presumably occurred due to drowning. Perry’s body was found in the bathtub of the house where she lived in Los Angeles.

The American authorities had previously stated that the autopsy carried out on Perry’s body had been inconclusive and that it was necessary to wait for the release of the toxicological tests, which were not ready at that moment. No illicit drugs were found by police at the scene of the actor’s death.

Perry’s death caused shock among fans of the series Friends All over the world. The actor, who had previously faced problems with alcohol abuse and other illicit substances, was apparently going through a good time in life. On the day of his death, he exercised and came into contact with his personal assistant.

Actors Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow, from the main cast of Friendsthey recounted the incident in a joint statement, released two days after the death of their colleague.

“We are all absolutely devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just co-stars. We are family,” read the statement published exclusively in People. “There is so much to say, but right now let’s give ourselves a moment to grieve and process this unimaginable loss.”
