At New York Comic Con 2023 it was announced that Dragon Ball, a manga and anime franchise, will receive a new animation, which will be called Dragon Ball Daima. With the news out, many fans were excited. However, a doubt remains about the meaning of the name of the new chapter of the anime.
Meaning of the term “daima”
When the title of the anime was announced, there was some speculation regarding the meaning of “daima”. However, the word does not have a literal translation in Japan, the country where Akira Toiriyama, author of the saga, was born, and where the manga also gave rise to an animated television series.
However, the term “daima” is used in Japan to refer to “evil/evil” and “great/incredible”. Therefore, Dragon Ball Daima can be translated as “Dragon Ball Big Bad”.
Plot
Set to debut between September and November 2024, in Dragon Ball Daima, Goku and his friends are changed into child versions of themselves after an evil spell practiced by a great evil force. Then, they will have to identify who it is and fight.
