Although the second season of Loki ended a few days ago on Disney+, Marvel fans are wondering about Tom Hiddleston’s future in the MCU. Will the series dedicated to his character get a third season? Will Tori’s brother return in future films?
If the end of season two is to be believed, Loki’s future is definitely not in sight in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Especially since the series has also suffered from superhero fatigue, Marvel is no longer attracting the crowds it used to.
Is Tom Hiddleston saying goodbye to Loki?
In addition, the narrative arc of the character played by Tom Hiddleston concluded with the epic ending of the series’ 2nd season. In the final episode, Loki finally achieves his “glorious destiny” and saves the TVA (Tribunal of Anachronic Variations), which governs inconsistencies in the multiverse and gaps in the eternal temporal stream.
Screenwriter Eric Martin also explained CinemaBlend That Loki series was created in two seasons: “We approached the show as two halves of a book. Season one, the first half. Season two, we closed the book on Loki and TVA. I don’t know how far it could go beyond that story. I just wanted to. Tell the full story over the course of two seasons.”
This doesn’t preclude Loki from returning in the upcoming Phase 6 of the MCU, but Tom Hiddleston’s recent statements tend to suggest that the British actor is indeed done with Marvel.
