The connection between Courage, the Cowardly Dog and the Friends series is very curious, but very simple. Ever since its creator, John R. Dilworth, decided to take inspiration from the characters Chandler and Ross from Friends to create the names of the retired guardians of the pink dog.
Therefore, the characters had the following names: Chandler Muriel Bing and Ross Estácio Geller. Funny, isn’t it?
2-Courage, the cowardly dog has addressed controversial topics
Themes such as machismo and domestic violence were part of one of the episodes of the cartoon, bringing the issue in a peculiar way to the child audience of the time.
This episode was “The Mask”, in which the character Kitty appears at the ranch and says that her friend Bunny is in an abusive relationship. What’s interesting is that Courage had a mission to save Bunny, which was another unique way the cartoon had to win over audiences.
