The Israeli army said its forces were carrying out an operation on Wednesday (local time) against Hamas inside Gaza’s largest hospital, Al Shifa.
In a statement, the military said: “Based on intelligence information and an operational necessity, IDF (Israel Defense Forces) forces are carrying out a precise and targeted operation against Hamas in a specific area of the Shifa hospital”.
The army said: “IDF forces include medical and Arabic-speaking personnel, who have undergone specific training to prepare for this complex and sensitive environment, with the intention that no harm be caused to civilians.”
