Thor 5 will not be directed by Taika Waititi; understand

In the franchise, Taika Waititi directed Thor: Ragnarok (2017) and Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)

The first two solo films by Thorstarring Chris Hemsworthhad a darker tone in relation to the other projects in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), and were a failure among the public and critics. Although, Taika Waititi revitalized the hero with success Thor: Ragnarok (2017), but did not repeat the success in the fourth feature, Thor: Love and Thunder (2022). Now the director has revealed how he will not be working on Thor 5.

During an interview with Business Insider, the filmmaker was asked if he would reprise his role as director in the character’s fifth solo film. In response, he was not very sure. “I wouldn’t know if that’s true. I know I won’t be involved,” he said.

Right away, Waititi took the opportunity to explain why he probably doesn’t drive Thor 5. According to the director, the main factor would be his busy schedule. His next projects include adapting the comic book The Incalfilm set in the universe Star Wars and another adaptation, this time from Klara and the Sunnovel by Kazuo Ishiguro.

I will focus on these other films that I have signed on for. So it’s been six, seven years. I imagine that another Thor would arrive long before that.

Case Marvel Studios choose another director to Thor 5, Taika Waititi wouldn’t feel offended: “I would never feel like they’re cheating on me. We’re in an open relationship and it’s like they want to see other people, I’m happy about that. I would still go back to bed with them one day.”
