For several years now, TF1 has followed the now famous tradition of Christmas TV movies and offers romantic comedies that are highlighted by the magic of the last holiday of the year.

After last week’s Superpapa, the channel will air Christmas tonight… and more if you like. In this romantic comedy, Jules and Line, two 13-year-olds who don’t know each other, set out to find their parents’ soulmate by signing up for their dating app.

Then it appears to Jules that his mother is Chloe, a working girl who no longer believes in love and lines up for her father Harold, a romantic bachelor. If the match is immediate, Jules and Line don’t know that their parents work in the same chocolate factory and that they can’t stand each other. Will the magic of Christmas finally work?

Immersed in the heart of Paris during the Christmas holidays at the end of the year… and even more so, if the similarities clearly fit all the fields of the genre: romance with two characters who hate each other, dreamy decor, Christmas trees and garlands. Christmas music, misunderstandings, good feelings and a good dose of humor in every corner. In the end, the TF1 film has nothing to envy to its American competitors, which are currently abundant on our screens.

The duo of Hélène de Fugerol and Lanique Gautrée works really well. The chemistry is there and we easily fall into their romance. At the same time, Florent Peyre, Jeanne Bourneau, Gina Djemba and Genevieve Doang bring a little touch of humor that is necessary to complete everything.

Even if the formula is well-established and doesn’t reinvent the genre, Christmas… and even more so if the similarities can be enjoyed, with a nice cup of hot chocolate in hand, and should please fans of the genre. It’s sweet, tender and comforting, and it’s what we’re finally asking for before Christmas.
