Grace Stewart (Nicole Kidman) moves into a new house with her children, Anne (Alakina Mann) and Nicholas (James Bentley). The place is isolated, but is perfect for living with children, since they cannot have contact with daylight.

To protect them, the house lives in darkness, until some rules end up being broken and the family’s routine changes completely. This leads the residents to believe that the property is haunted by supernatural forces, but the twist ends up changing everything.
