Black Mirror is renewed for a seventh season

To the delight of fans of one of the most bizarre and acclaimed science fiction productions in history, Black mirror is back: the series has been renewed for a seventh season by Netflix. Production is expected to begin in late 2023, according to Variety.

The sixth season of Black mirror arrived on Netflix, as usual, in June this year, but after a four-year hiatus. Tackling topics such as anxiety and, of course, artificial intelligence (AI), the five-episode series achieved record audience numbers, placing the series in the top 10 on the platform in 92 countries.

With a strong cast – last year it included Salma Hayek, Annie Murphy, Aaron Paul, Josh Hartnett and Paapa Essiedu – it’s common for famous artists to take part Black mirror, as also happened with Miley Cyrus, in the fifth season. This custom makes fans even more excited for what’s to come.

Black mirror is a science fiction series with anthology episodes involving themes related to technology, modern society, privacy and social media. The series aired in 2011 on Channel 4 and, after two seasons, was purchased by Netflix.

The previous six seasons, as well as the spin-off film Black Mirror: Bandersnatchare available on Netflix.
