The two clubs will unite through a special patch on their uniforms, symbolizing the struggle of blacks. Additionally, the teams will post together on social media, with #JogoContraORacismo.
The opponents next Friday, after the FIFA data, Corinthians and Bahia will carry out a joint action at the Neo Química Arena to celebrate the Black Awareness Day, celebrated nationally this Monday, 20.

The duel between Corinthians and Bahia, for the 35th round of the Brazilian Championship, will be characterized by a joint social responsibility action between the two teams. The two teams will carry out awareness-raising acts in the fight against racism, symbolized by Black Awareness Day, celebrated this Monday (20th).
The teams will post together on social media, with the message #GameAgainstRacism. A minute’s silence will be observed before the start of the match with the message displayed on the screens in the stadium. Material will also be produced with Fernando Wanner, Corinthians historian, on the fight against racism by both clubs. During the week, Corinthians will promote other actions, with the participation of players from the women’s and men’s teams.
Considered the blackest state in Brazil, according to the Fundação Cultural Palmares, the coordinator underlines: “We understand the social role of the institution, being the largest in the Northeast, as it represents the largest black population outside of Africa. Many Fans began to support affirmative action causes, they began to understand the importance of the agenda.” Thus, last 2019, on the occasion of Black Consciousness Day, Bahia created the “Finger in the Wound” project, which promotes free internal workshops in Bahia and external workshops for other interested institutions and companies. The proposal is to discuss structural and institutional racism to combat it.
The actions of the Sao Paulo club have already begun, with the emphasis on the black characters who have marked the history of Corinthians. Timão will also highlight one of its symbols of the anti-racism struggle, namely the club’s second striped kit, whose origins refer to the inclusion of marginalized people in sport.
On the 21st, the Timão Social Responsibility team will welcome 30 black children playing football from the TeleAtlas community. Black female footballers will be present and midfielder Grazi will lead a conversation with the children.
Finally, Timão will combine art, history and football against racism. Ten Fine Art print engravings of the work “Futebol”, by Francisco Rebolo (1902-1980), will be autographed by the players of the men’s football team. The original painting, by the same artist who created the Corinthian shield, was the first to depict a black man on equal terms competing in a football match against a white man, in 1936.
