Melissa Barrera was fired from Scream 7 for “incitement to hatred”, said the Spyglass Media Groupproducer of the new feature film in the franchise created by Wes Craven. In a statement to Varietythe company explained that the actress’s publications about the conflict between Israel and Palestine were decisive in the decision:

“Spyglass’ position is unequivocally clear: we have zero tolerance for anti-Semitism or hate speech in any form, including false references to genocide, ethnic cleansing, distortion of the Holocaust, or anything that blatantly crosses the line into hate speech.”declared the producer.

According to the portal One Take Newsthe actress, who played Sam Carpenterdaughter of Billy Loomis (Skeet Ulrich) and current final girl from the franchise, she was fired for using her social media to show support for Palestine in the midst of the conflict.
