CBF is the target of racist attacks on social media

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has suffered several racist attacks during this week, especially after the match against Argentina, played on Tuesday (21). The attacks were not only aimed at the entity, but also at the Brazilian players and fans, who compared them to “monkeys”.

Insults were also directed at CBF president Ednaldo Rodrigues, who received derogatory comments about his ethnicity.

– I am proud to be the first Black, Northeastern, Indigenous descendant to hold the presidency of the CBF. I have always known and am aware of my struggle and the difficulties that I will have to face throughout my life because I do not come from the Brazilian elite, but from within the Northeast – declared the president.

The entity has already taken the appropriate measures in this case, which are: communicate to the police authorities, in order to identify and punish the perpetrators of these attacks, since these are crimes covered by Brazilian legislation, including those punishable with a penalty detention.
