Arsenal score the winning goal in the final minutes to take the lead in the Premier League

This Saturday afternoon Arsenal visited Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium, in a match valid for the 13th round of the English Championship. With a saving goal from Havertz, the London team won the match 1-0 and, as a bonus, finished first in the competition.

With Manchester City and Liverpool drawing in the morning, Arsenal needed a win to take the lead in the Premier League. The triumph over Brentford took the Mikel Arteta-led club into first place with 30 points. The Brentford city club is provisionally in 11th place with 16 units.

Brentford take to the field again next Saturday, against Luton Town, in the Premier League. Arsenal will face Lens next Wednesday in the Champions League.

Arsenal even opened the scoring with Trossard late in the first half, in the 41st minute, but after a VAR review, the goal was disallowed for offside by the Belgian athlete.

The winning goal came just 43 minutes into the second half, when after an exchange of passes, Bukayo Saka found Kai Havertz inside the area, who headed the ball into the back of the net.
