‘Dicks, bandits’ and ‘worse than prostitutes’, says Senator Kajuru of ABC players; I wait

Jorge Kajuru is angry after the relegated team beat Vila Nova in the last round of Serie B; The result prevented Vila’s access to Serie A

Goiás’ senator, Jorge Kajuru, vented his feelings after ABC’s victory over Vila Nova, a result that put an end to Goiás’s team’s chances of accessing Serie A of the Brazilian Championship.

In the match of the last round of Serie B, ABC, already relegated, won 3 to 2. Kajuru, who was present in Natal to watch the Vila Nova match, was outraged in a video on social media, in who referred to the ABC as “rascals” and “thugs”.

“For me, the ABC Natal players are worse than the prostitutes. Much worse. The prostitutes are more ethical than them. So far they haven’t played anything, they have left the ABC relegated, demoralized in the Brazilian league. The ABC is now going “The third division suddenly goes to Serie D. I hope it goes to Serie Z. I don’t give a damn about ABC for Christmas,” he declared.

The senator, who is also a sports journalist, also said that each ABC player would receive a “white suitcase” worth R$200,000 as an incentive to beat Vila Nova.

“I have a 45-year career in football. Most of the class are criminals, scoundrels (…) You (ABC players) are scoundrels, criminals. You didn’t have the dignity of wearing the ABC shirt during the championship , they relegated the team and, in the last round, in the last match, they played like it was a World Cup because you received R$200,000 each as a prize to defeat Vila Nova and you defeated. That’s why I’m disgusted by football “, he concluded.

In a statement, the Union of Professional Football Athletes of the State of Rio Grande do Norte (Safern) repudiated Kajuru’s statement.

“Certainly, the senator, without sense, must have confused his status as a public man elected by the people of the State of Goiás with his native profession of journalist, where emotion and balance must be contained for the good of a impartial information. “The dignity of people is an affront to the immutable clauses contained in the October Charter, in particular Article 5 and its derivatives”, reads the note.
