By shaving his head for the role, this actor caused an unexpected reaction on social networks

This is one of the best novelties that French cinema has given us in a long time and it’s called Pomme or rather Claire Pommet!

The successful singer, and therefore now actress, has been appearing in La Vénus d’argent since last Wednesday. It impresses in this drama with a unique and attractive atmosphere.

Directed and co-written by Helena Klotz, Silver Venus follows the character of Jeanne, a 24-year-old young woman who bets her life on being successful in the financial world. to gain his freedom. A role Pom talks about in the video interview above.

For this first movie experience, Pom had to face an important scene, which he did not want to do at first: shaving his head for the needs of the scene.

In an interview with AlloCiné (find the podcast version of our interview below), Pom explained why this scene was so difficult to approach.

When you’re exposed and you’re a woman, there are criteria of respect, depending on the population, obviously. Having shaved hair wasn’t part of the criteria for people following me on Instagram… I had a wave of people unfollow me when I showed up with a shaved head, it was pretty crazy.

He continues: “At first I didn’t want to, because I promoted my album almost simultaneously with the shooting of the film. I told myself, hell, I’m going to show up for a promo with a shaved head and I’m going to have to justify myself because I knew it was going to be a problem. Obviously, if I were a man with a shaved head, no one would ask me what happened. I knew this was going to be a theme so it was a bit stressful.

With Helena, we changed some things in the script, in the relationship between Jeanne and Augustine’s character, played by Nils Schneider. With this whole aspect around consent, intimacy. Restore trust. In the end it became very important in how we rewrote the script. This shaving scene became a scene of intimacy and a scene of repair.

So after months of saying no and talking about it again, I realized that if the movie was going to go where Elena Klotz wanted to shave her head. I agreed to make this film. Helena Klotz agreed to compromise on things I didn’t want to do, so I shaved my head, and this may be the only time in my life I do. Or maybe I’ll find myself wanting to shave my head all the time. Which was not the case, but it allowed me to live that experience, in the service of the film.

In the gaming experience I had, I had to put aside my identity, my personality for the better and for a lesson in humility that really did me good and opened my mind.

It was a ship serving the project. But this was true on every level, not just my appearance. In the gaming experience I had, I had to put aside my identity, my personality for the better and for a lesson in humility that really did me good and opened my mind. I don’t regret it, even though I lost 2,500 followers on Instagram, I still have a lot more.

Silver Venus, with Claire Pommet, Niels Schneider, Sofian Zermans is currently in theaters.
