MY HERO ACADEMIA – UA HEROES BATTLE (Crunchyroll)

Available from November 30.

Eight months after the end of the season, the heroes of My Hero Academia are taking a short break in the middle of the war to bring us a special episode. With a sense of relaxation and humor, Izuku, Bakugo, Shoto and all their comrades are back to play for a welcome moment before resuming their battle against the villains.

This all-original OAV, directed by Kenji Nagasaki and still under the supervision of Bones Studios, had its world premiere at the New York Comic Convention in the United States on October 13th.

A nice little episode, in the company of these still beloved characters, in anticipation of the 7th season already ordered and due to hit our platforms in 2024, but also the fourth feature film based on the license and currently in production in Japan.

Ragna Crimson (DNA)

It is currently broadcasting from September 30.

A fantastic little nugget of the season, Ragna Crimson isn’t talked about much, but it remains very effective in its genre. Adapted from Kobayashi Daiki’s eponymous manga, the anime follows the adventures of Ragna and Crimson, a mysterious duo of hunters who want to overthrow the supremacy of dragons.

Very well paced, despite the lack of action, this series seduces with its rich world, intriguing characters and powerful moments of emotion. Very faithful and respectful to the original work, Ragna Crimson has a knack for convincing manga readers as well as new audiences.

With 24 episodes ordered for this first season, we’re hoping for a quick update as the paper is still being published in Japan.

Pokemon Receiver (Netflix)

Fully available from December 28th.

Nostalgia fans of the original Pokemon series are sure to be blown away by this amazing new series! The anime is done entirely in stop motion, a daring technique for a license as popular as Pokemon.

The story takes us to Haru, a young concierge at a Pokemon vacation hotel. Aimed primarily at a younger audience, the series will appeal to absolute fans of Satoshi Tajiri’s fictional pocket creatures.

With a Detective Pikachu movie sequel in the works and The Pokémon Receptionist coming to Netflix on December 28th, the brand isn’t likely to run out anytime soon. According to Nintendo statistics in 2020, Pokémon games have sold approximately 368 million units since their release in 1996.
