Is Almost Normal Family a good series? The program is a Netflix hit!

Netflix’s hit new mini-series, An Almost Normal Family, is already number one on the platform’s top viewership charts. Adapted from Matthias Edvardsson’s bestseller of the same name, this Swedish fiction is based on the thrilling and captivating story that left subscribers of the streaming service in suspense.

Comprised of 6 episodes, Almost Normal Family tells how a 19-year-old young woman, Stella Sandel (Alexandra Karlsson Tyfors), is accused of murdering her boyfriend, Chris (Kristian Fandango Sandgren).

Her parents, Adam (Bjorn Bengtsson) and Ulrika (Lo Kaup), a priest and a lawyer respectively, are shocked and try to understand how their daughter could have reached this state and try to find out if she is guilty.

Throughout the episodes, we understand, through flashbacks and the different points of view of the protagonists, Stella’s journey and the traumatic events she experienced and what happened to bring her to this situation.

Did Internet users like Almost Normal Family?

A heart-pounding pace, a compelling main character, multiple twists and turns, and the sensitive and painful subjects of an almost normal family within a few episodes, seduced Netflix subscribers who flocked to this mini-series, the platform’s new hit.

Internet users did not hesitate to recommend the series in social networks, especially in X (formerly Twitter), praising its qualities and the feelings it evoked, including across the Atlantic, where an almost normal family also had the best views in the basket.

“Almost a normal family. Scandinavian thrillers never disappoint”

“I recommend everyone to watch ‘Almost Normal Family’ on Netflix, it talks a lot about issues of rape and consent and the effects that rape has on not only the victim but their immediate family as well. Tragic.”

As for AlloCiné viewers, who give it a 3.4 out of 5 at the time of writing, opinions are divided, with rave reviews on one side, such as Negussa: “Wonderful and addictive, this series does its job by not revealing the end of the story until the last 10 minutes.”

Same story for Enzo B who believes it “This series is really amazing” for that “The script is perfectly executed by the main actor”.

In turn, Harry6489 liked it “The complexity of the characters and the mix of different personalities”. For him “6 episodes can be watched at once for our greatest pleasure”.

Different voices, like Lia, did not stop at all: “I was expecting something better. The characters are annoying and not really attractive. Also, the acting is very average. In short, I didn’t get to the end.”

Charlotte28 condemns the clumsy treatment of sensitive subjects in an almost normal family:

“Limited to six episodes, this police investigation series evolves to denounce the rape community’s very clumsy, poorly painted psychological portrait of a man.”

While the narrative construction is interesting, the twists and turns as well as the involvement of the parents are not believable despite the convincing cast. On the subject of a prominent but accused child of murder, watch the excellent defense attorney Jacob.
