Plot brings dystopia that discusses limits of free will with Chris Hemsworth as the protagonist
spiderhead (2022) is the new science fiction film from Netflix which premiered this Friday, the 17th. Inspired by a short story by the American author George Saunders Escape From Spiderheadthe plot brings the story of two inmates in a technological penitentiary.
As in the original short story, the plot is about a dystopia where prisoners are forced to use a device that releases mind-altering drug dosages into their bodies. With no cells in the penitentiary, the film discusses the limits and questions of free will.
Directed by Joseph Kosinskiknown for his work in Tron: The Legacy (2010) and Top Gun: Maverick (2022) and scripted by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernickin Deadpool (2016), the plot brings great names in the cast such as Chris Hemsworth (Thor: Love and Thunder), Miles Teller (Top Gun: Maverick) and Jurnee Smollett (Birds of prey).
The film’s approval Rotten Tomatoes it is at 57% after 56 evaluations, 32 of which are positive and 24 are negative. The average grade, on the other hand, is 5.8/10.
