Tiago Nunes links Botafogo’s draw to team’s inexperience: “Many are competing for the title for the first time”

Coach Tiago Nunes lamented yet another Botafogo draw in the final minutes, this time against Coritiba, to Couto Pereira. The script featured cruel refinements, with the goal scored on the last play by Edu. The coach linked the lack of concentration to the team’s inexperience in moments of tension.

We know that we have to evolve, not only on the pitch, but also know how to close a game, lead a game to the end. Experience can only be gained by living – said Tiago Nunes, who completed.

Despite taking the blame for the team, Tiago Nunes criticized the refereeing for not finishing the match after Tiquinho Soares converted the penalty.

– I have doubts about the addition criteria. The referee added five minutes and the penalty was awarded at 49 and 51, with nine seconds left in the game. I didn’t understand the criteria for adding extras. This criterion no longer makes sense depending on the celebration, because otherwise it would have to be added after Coritiba’s goal. This in no way takes away our responsibility, but, in this criterion, I did not understand the addition.

Botafogo is second in the Brasileirão with 63 points, three less than Palmeiras. Glorioso will play again on Sunday (3), against Cruzeiro, at 6.30pm, at Nilton Santos.
