After playing rock star Tommy Lee in the Disney+ series Pam & Tommy, Sebastian Stan is getting ready to don the costume of another famous American figure: Donald Trump.
The 41-year-old actor, who is best known for his role as Bucky Barnes in the Marvel Universe, will be donning his features as a young former US president.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project is called The Apprentice, a reference to the NBC reality series hosted by Donald Trump. The production will be directed by Ali Abbas, known for his powerful thriller Mashhad Nights in 2022.
Screenplay by Gabriel Sherman. The screenwriter notably wrote a biography of Fox News founder Roger Ailes. The work became the basis for the miniseries The Loudest Voice, in which Russell Crowe plays the main role.
The story is described as “A quest for power and ambition that unfolds in a world of corruption and deceit”. The story will paint a portrait of Donald Trump in the 70s and 80s against the background of his real estate deals in New York.
The film will also explore his relationship with his first wife, Ivana Trump, played by Maria Bakalova (Guardians of the Galaxy 3). Legacy hero Jeremy Strong will be donning the suit of Trump lawyer Roy Cohn.
