Flamengo saw the Brazilian championship title become further away after losing to Atlético-MG. The Maracanã result left the Rossoneri in fourth place in Série A, three points behind Palmeiras.
Coach Tite made no secret of his frustration with the loss. The commander admitted that he dreams of the Brazilian title.
“The feeling is like burning flesh. I created expectations for myself. As the team grew in production and achieved results. My expectations increased. I am shocked. The defeat was against a direct opponent,” he said.
Tite highlighted that Atlético-MG was superior to Flamengo in the match.
“Atlético-MG played a great match and we were behind. As a coach, I also have my part. Atlético-MG were very effective. The first moments were crucial,” he said.
Flamengo will look to maintain their title dream this Sunday when they host Cuiabá, at the Maracanã.
