The director of ‘Shang Chi and the legend of the ten rings’, Destin Daniel Cretton will be in charge of producing and, surely, directing some chapter of this new show that will focus on Wonder Man, one of Marvel’s oldest characters. Cretton will join forces with Andrew Guest, chosen to write the script who is an expert in sitcoms having worked on ‘Community’, 30 Rock’ and ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’.

Who is Wonder Man?
The first appearance in Marvel comics of Wonder Man, known in Spain as Wonder Man, dates back to number 9 of ‘Avengers’ in 1964and in his first encounters with the marvelite heroes he was a rather sporadic villain.
In the 70s and 80s, Simon Williams (which is his real identity) turned and became the founder of the West Coast Avengersalways wearing the turtleneck sweater, sunglasses, and red jacket outfit when he wasn’t fighting supervillains and was working as an actor and stuntman in Hollywood.
Wonder Man’s powers are based on ionic energygranting him abilities such as teleportation, size change, energy manipulation and super strength, among others.
The comics went so far as to link him to Vision by revealing that the synthetic hero was created based on Simon Williams’ “brainwaves”, and even became romantically involved with Scarlet Witch after Vision’s death.
It remains to be seen if the series will adapt the character’s original line, as a Californian hero / actor, or will focus on his relationship with ‘Scarlet Witch and Vision’, expanding the small universe of both characters that is gradually growing within the UCM with the Wanda’s appearance in ‘Doctor Strange 2’, Marvel’s most surreal sequel and the announced spin-off of ‘Agatha Harkness’ on Disney+.
Wonder Man had previously appeared in the MCU as an easter-egg from ‘Guardians of the Galaxy vol. two‘, where James Gunn placed some posters in the background in which Nathan Fillion played the actor Simon Williams.
