1. Rocky Balboa
Rocky Balboa is considered the best film of the Italian Stallion series. After years in the spotlight as a world champion, the fighter lives his old age practically alone, given that his wife has passed away and his son doesn’t care about him.
His life now revolves around a small restaurant he opened, until a television simulation raises the possibility of Rocky having one last moment of glory in the ring. The film is directed by and stars Stallone.

2. Rambo: Programmed to Kill
It was Stallone’s first major role since Rocky Balboa, playing a lethal but frightened soldier trying to figure out his place in the world after being used as a weapon by the American government.
The film deals with the effects of post-traumatic stress on war veterans and how those who went to Vietnam to fight for the United States were treated by the country after returning home.

3. Creed: born to fight
The film is a spin-off of the Rocky series and stars Michael B. Jordan as Adonis, the son of Apollo Creed, a former rival who later becomes friends with Rocky. The young man embarks on a career as a boxer and goes to Philadelphia in the hope of being trained by the great Balboa.
Considered one of Stallone’s best performances, the film portrays an older, emotionally and physically vulnerable Rocky, far from his glory days.

4. Cobra Stallion
Despite not being well received upon its release, Stallone’s Cobra has become a cult film over the years. Initially, the film was born from the fact that the actor was almost going to film Beverly Hills Cop, but since he didn’t like the fact that it was a comedy, he rewrote the script and made it more serious.
The production is a violent crime film, in which a member of a special force tries to stop a serial killer before he kills more victims in the city. It’s the kind of movie that, despite being so bad, ends up being good, especially dubbed.

5. Consumer goods 2
The first film in the series was already a success, but the second seems to have reached its true peak, bringing together everything that action movie audiences were looking for: Stallone, Jason Statham, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jet Li, Chuck Norris, Jean -Claude Van Damme and Bruce Willis.
It might be the perfect formula for getting it wrong, but the sequel takes advantage of the story of the first, providing a fun experience and keeping fans happy.

The worst films
1. Rhinestones: a glow in the night
Written by Stallone and screenwriter Phil Alden Robinson, the film has an absurd story, in which Jake Farris (Dolly Parton) makes a bet with the owner of a bar, to try to break a contract.
The bet is to turn any man into a country singer in two weeks, and if Jake wins, she gets out of the contract, if he loses, another five years will be added to her. The man she finds attending is a cab driver who hates country music, played by Stallone.
2. The judge
The production is an adaptation of the British comics of the same name and had everything to be a great action film, but Stallone ended up making the film rather generic.
The original story underwent changes, as well as elements taken from the comics, such as the fact that the main character never took off his helmet – an unthinkable fact for an actor like Stallone -, which made the adaptation one of the worst ever made .
3. High speed
The film stars Stallone as a former Champ Car driver, who comes out of retirement to train a talented new driver. The production, however, was massacred by critics and was a failure with the public, with exaggerated scenes that did not convince the public.
The film also brings with it a curiosity: Stallone also worked as a producer, trying to obtain the rights for Formula One and appearing in some races of the time. But, due to the secrets the teams have with their cars, the actor abandoned the idea and went after the Champ Car folks.
4. Oscars
Directed by John Landis, from The Prince of New York, Oscar was an attempt at a comedy that didn’t work very well. Being a remake of a French film of the same name, the production stars Stallone as gangster Angelo “Snaps” Provolone, who promises his father on his deathbed that he will leave the life of crime and become a serious businessman.
Because it moves away from slapstick comedy, with physical situations not working as intended, the film was a box office failure.
5. Stop! Otherwise mom will shoot
In this film, Stallone plays a police detective who has broken up with his department head, causing his mother to decide to visit him, which ends up involving her in the investigation of a weapons smuggling organization.
Arnold Schwarzenegger initially received the film’s script and didn’t think it was good, but said he was very interested in the role. Stallone, who had a rivalry with the actor at the time, saw an opportunity to steal Arnold’s role by pursuing him and getting the job.
