The romantic comedy 20 Years Gap, which hit theaters in 2013, is, to put it bluntly, a little treat.
The feature film tells the story of Alice, 38 years old, beautiful, ambitious and demonstrating an impeccable professional conscience, before forgetting about her personal life. In short, she has everything to become the next editor-in-chief of Rebelle magazine, everything but the image of a stuck-up woman.
But when the young and charming Balthazar, barely 20 years old, crosses paths with Alice, the outlook of his colleagues inexplicably changes. Realizing that she holds the key to her promotion, Alice turns into an improbable romance comedy.

“With my co-author Amro HamzavWe were looking for a romantic comedy theme that had not yet been explored in French cinema.”– says director David Moreau.
“We started with this age gap, then with the idea of a woman showing herself and falling into the trap of her own game.”he continues. “This second dimension and this feminine point of view gave the writing a real boost. They allowed us to touch on very interesting social topics.”
20 Years Gap borrows some of its codes from genre films, from which David Moreau took inspiration in punctuating his story and framing his images. These include The Essential Love at First Sight in Notting Hill, The Women of His Dreams by Peter and Bobby Farrell and Magnolia by Paul Thomas Anderson.
Finally, note that a small part of the filming took place 20 years apart in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and more precisely in Roquinia, the most dangerous favela in South America!
