Wingfoil

Wingfoil is a water sport, recent among the types of sailing, which consists of flying on water with the aid of an inflatable wing (wing) and a hydrofoil board, and has developed from kitesurfing, windsurfing and surf. The first wing prototypes were developed in 1982 at the Pan Am Cup in Kailua Bay, Hawaii. However, it was only around 2010 – 2011, when a group of kitesurfers and windsurfers tested inflatable wings in combination with the hydrofoil board, that the sport started to gain more visibility, eventually becoming a viral sport in 2019.

One of the main reasons why wingfoil has become popular among lovers of sea and wind sports is the possibility of being practiced in different wind and wave conditions, which makes it more versatile and wider in practice.
