This is one of the most anticipated series of 2024: Mr. and Mrs. Movie. Doug Liman’s Smith, already inspired by the 1996 TV series of the same name starring Scott Bakula and Maria Bello.
We’ve come full circle with this new iteration of this famous killer couple. Forget Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, the new Mr. and Mrs. Smith are Donald Glover (Community, Solo: A Star Wars Story) — or Childish Gambino for music fans — and Maya Erskine (PEN15, Obi-Wan Kenobi).
The latter briefly replaced Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who left the series due to artistic differences. The new duo, every bit as iconic as its predecessors, portrays two lonely strangers who are recruited by a mysterious agency that offers them espionage, wealth, world travel and a plush Manhattan apartment.
trap? An arranged marriage under the false identity of Mr. and Mrs. John & Jane Smith. Now husband and wife, the two secret agents must successfully complete high-risk missions each week as their relationship takes new steps.
Keeping their identities a secret and fulfilling their contracts is already a difficult mission, so when real feelings develop between them, that’s when things can explode. Which would be more risky, espionage or marriage?
Prime Video published Mr. Very attractive first trailer of & Mrs. Smith, who promises a clever mix of action, romance and humor for a very promising duo, but also a host of impressive guests.
They include Paul Dano, Sarah Paulson, John Turturro, Parker Posey, Wagner Moura, Mikaela Coel, Alexander Skarsgård, Eiza Gonzalez, Sharon Horgan, Ron Perlman and Billy Campbell.
The Mr & Mrs Smith series will be available on Prime Video on February 2.
