CGU and PF create a group to combat corruption crimes in an integrated way


The partnership aims to bring together the experiences of the two institutions and their agents in combating the misuse of public resources

The minister of Comptroller General of the Union (CGU), Vinícius Marques de Carvalho, and the general director of Federal Police (PF), Andrei Augusto Passos Rodrigues, signed on Thursday 7th a joint ordinance creating the Integrated Crime Fighting Group of Corruption and misappropriation of public resources.




Signed at an event commemorating the International Anti-Corruption Day, the partnership aims to bring together the experiences of the two institutions and their agents in combating the misuse of public resources.

“The Federal Police and the Union Comptroller General have a long history of cooperation, with excellent results which will be expanded with groups in the central and regional units, in order to facilitate constant confrontation, increasing the quality and quantity of operations together, proactivity, contemporaneity and efficiency, in the context of strong action in the fight against corruption”, said the director general of the PF.

According to the CGU minister, the results achieved by the two institutions will be expanded. The objective, according to him, is to facilitate debate and the quality and quantity of joint operations, as well as proactivity, contemporaneity and efficiency in the context of strong action in the fight against corruption.

According to the minister, by improving the investigative and sanctioning processes, as well as articulating and coordinating the action of government bodies and agencies, it will be possible to make the fight against corruption more effective. “With coordinated actions, capable of addressing the complex aspects of the corruption phenomenon (…) we increase the capacity for investigation. And the greater our capacity to discover illicit acts, the lower the incentives for public or private agents to act illegally “, explains the minister.
