Marvel: Beginning of the End? We decode the future of MCU superheroes on podcast!

In 2008, Disney studios and producer Kevin Feige made a crazy and unprecedented bet in the history of cinema: the creation of a connected universe around the Marvel superheroes, with films and series that integrate into the same common story, located between the cinema and the Disney+ platform.

Fifteen years later, the Marvel Cinematic Universe project, or MCU for short, has established itself as the largest franchise in the history of cinema: 33 films and about ten feature films are in development, 10 series have already been released and a dozen more are in the works. Nearly $30 billion in worldwide box office revenue and characters that now reign in the pop culture pantheon.

But is this success inevitable for, say, Thanos? For months, The Empire has vacillated between box office failure, sluggish streaming audiences, behind-the-scenes tensions, and above all, growing Marvel fatigue among viewers. So what are the prospects for the MCU, which now faces a big challenge: to recapture the success of its first three phases, the Infinity Stones, while phases 4 and 5 struggle to convince and establish the multiverse cycle?

We’re talking about that in this podcast, of course, with an intentionally disastrous title, but one that puts its finger on this tipping point, this tipping point that the studio has to face: “Marvel, is this the beginning of the end?” . To shed some light on the matter, we gathered our Avengers, our editorial experts on superheroes in general and Marvel in particular. AlloCiné… The Gathering!
