What if the best superhero series in 2023 wasn’t produced by either Marvel or DC Comics? This is the opinion of many Internet users, this fall will air the first part of season 2 of Invincible, the animated series adapted from the comics of the same name by Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead).
This series follows the adventures of a teenage superhero, the son of Omni-Man, the most powerful vigilante on Earth. As he tries to find his place in the ruthless world of costumed heroes, Invicible (real name Mark Grayson) will also try to step out of the shadow of his famous father. Especially since the latter seems to be hiding heavy secrets…
Conceived both as a parody of other superhero productions and as an action series with a rich universe, Invincible celebrates the spirit of both the violence of its scenes and the richness of its story.
The series also perfectly oscillates between superhero codes and a lighter tone borrowed from teen comedies. In short, we can’t get enough of this Prime Video production, which we decided to discuss in a new episode of our Animehameha show from our AlloCiné podcast.
