Despite staying in Serie A, the SAF did not like the performance
Even remaining in Série A, Vasco’s SAF board of directors was not satisfied with the team’s performance in the Brasileirão. Following the sacking of Paulo Bracks and Abel Braga, Cruz-Maltino announced the departure of six other professionals from the club.
In the press release Vasco SAF thanks for the dedication shown and communicates the cessation of the activity of the following employees:
Professional football: Fabiano Lunz (Football Manager) and Gabriel Ferreira (Administrative Manager).
Basic football: Carlos Brasil (Executive Director of Grassroots Football), Carlos Eduardo Borges (Coordinator of Grassroots Football), Celso Martins (Methodological Coordinator of Grassroots Football) and Marcos Antônio da Silva (Coordinator of Grassroots Football).
The wave of dismissals does not surprise Vasco, who have already fired sporting director Paulo Bracks and technical director Abel Braga. For Bracks’ place, Vasco is negotiating with Alexandre Mattos, currently at Atletico-PR.
