‘I Wasn’t Ready’: Leonardo DiCaprio Could Play This Legendary Star Wars Character

Leonardo DiCaprio as Anakin Skywalker instead of Hayden Christensen? A few years ago, fans imagined what it would be like with a deep fake video. And as the actor himself confirmed on the microphone in 2015 A short listThis possibility could become a reality if things had developed differently.

When asked about the start of his career and the major roles he turned down, DiCaprio said he turned down several offers related to some pretty big projects, starting with Batman & Robin:

“I never had a test. I met Joel Schumacher. It was just an interview and in the end I failed”explained the actor, who was offered the role of the young supporter of the Dark Knight alongside George Clooney.

“As I remember, I went to the interview, but I didn’t want to play the role. Joel Schumacher is a very talented director, but I don’t think I was ready for anything in this genre.”

Therefore, the exact same scenario was repeated a few years later, when the director of Star Wars contacted Leonardo DiCaprio to offer him the role of a young Jedi in Attack of the Clones.

“I got to know George Lucas about it too, yeah”– the actor confirmed. “Again, I didn’t feel ready to dive into it. Not at the time.”

During the same period, DiCaprio also passed on the role of Peter Parker in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man, which was eventually taken over by his friend Tobey Maguire. Unwilling to join a mainstream sci-fi or superhero franchise, the actor (who has never starred in any film saga, save for Critters 3) has therefore turned to other big projects, most notably the colossal Titanic.

Would DiCaprio’s career be the same, instead of Hayden Christensen playing the future Darth Vader? Would you like to see him in a young Jedi robe?
