When Mom, I Missed the Plane meets Skating Kings: What’s Awesome Christmas, a crazy comedy with Eric Judor?

What are you doing?

On Christmas Eve, Greg, a lonely and silent police officer, does not hesitate to leave his daughter to go on a mission. In order to teach her a lesson, Santa decides to fulfill his daughter’s wish: that her father look like Richard Silston, the good, slightly goofy and overworked father of the family from the Christmas movie she loves.

While Greg is sent to this imaginary world, Richard accidentally lands in the real world. Awakened, the two men realize they have no choice but to succeed in each other’s mission to reclaim their lives: take down a dangerous drug ring for Richard and save the family home for Greg by winning the local figure skating competition.

Stunning, Absurd and Official Christmas!

That’s it, Christmas movie season is here! And if the TV movies of the genre delight fans, certain creations stand out by offering a completely different celebration of the holidays. This is indeed the case with An Amazing Christmas, a completely insane comedy that will delight humor lovers like Will Speck and Josh Gordon, Adam McKay or Sean Levy.

After cutting his teeth as author and director of Catherine et Liliane or La Vengeance au Triple gallop, and as screenwriter for LOL: He Who Laughs Gets Out! (Incidentally), Arthur Sanigue signs his first full-length film here, in which we get to see his sharp absurd sense of humor and the stories that shook him.

Calling on Christmas movie classics such as Mom I Miss the Plane or The Grinch, The Amazing Christmas manages to perfectly spin these symbols with a very unusual tone to them, something very rare in the French landscape. Both parodic and sincere, and therefore brutally effective, the film combines burlesque gags, telenovela pastiches, action sequences and iconic lines.

Everything is carried by the actor, who works wonders as Eric Judor, more comfortable and cheerful than ever in the famous Richard Silstone suit. He stars with Mathias Quiviger (aka Ragnar Le Breton), who emphasizes that he’s an actor to lean on now, but also comedians/actresses Lison Daniel and Laura Phelpin, Catherine Hosmalin (Dickenek), Bruno Sanchez (of Lillian de Catherine fame ), Kim Higuelin (Le Consentement), Francois Vincentel (Sam), Mr. Pulp or even the brilliant Alex Lutz. In short, 1h40 of pure and irreverent, feel-good madness. Discover without further ado on Prime Video.
