Netflix has just launched a new detective series by Olivier Marshall called Pax Massilia. Here the action takes place in Marseille, where a team of rebellious policemen (and sometimes using unauthorized methods) tries to stop a powerful dealer who wants to take over Marseille.
Filming in the cities of Marseille
In the casting, users of the platform find a group of actors formed by Tewfik Jalabi (Lyès), Jeanne Gourceau (Alice), Nicolas Duvachel (Murillo), Lani Sogoiu (Audrey), Olivier Barthelemy (Arnaud), Idir Azougli (Tatu), Florence Thomasin (Commissioner Fabian ) and Samir Boitard (Ali).
For the needs of certain scenes, Pax Massilia teams traveled to the residential buildings of Marseille, located in the so-called “sensitive” northern areas of the city. With AlloCiné, the actor and Olivier Marshall returned to this experience with great enthusiasm!
The latter explained to us:It was cool ! We didn’t have any problems. One of our co-workers found the right to shoot at the flea market, and he also took us to the city of the consulate… put us in touch with those who have all the access to certain networks, and we treat them as friends.“
“We got everyone together (…) We stayed there for about a week and the most amazing thing was that people were clapping from the windows when we left. It was a super touch– Olivier Marshall remembered with emotion.
“everything went perfectly”
Tewfiq Jalab added:We had no concerns and neither did they (…) As with all filming, we asked for authorization from the city, then tried to involve the residents of the neighborhoods as much as possible, so as not to exploit and separate them. . This is not a zoo!“
“Many people who live there participate in the show. 90% of the actors in this series are from Marseille. Recalled the actor seen in 2023 in Black Hearts (Amazon Prime Video). It was really a group spirit. Everything went perfectly from there. They welcomed us, and we made real connections.“
“I think Marseilles like Olivier MarshallLani Sogoyu concludes. All memories of filming in cities are warm. People were happy that we were there. And we ourselves were very happy to have them, because they brought authenticity.“
The six episodes that make up the first season of Pax Massilia are available now and exclusively on Netflix.
