Palmeiras ends the season with the Brasileirão-2023 title after a spectacular (and even unlikely) reaction to overtake Botafogo, who were making great strides towards victory. Verdão thus achieves its second title in the tournament, having been the winner in the 2022 edition. This was, in fact, the 12th Brazilian championship title in the club’s history.

The recent result has led the Alviverde club to widen the gap compared to its rivals from Sao Paulo. In the last ten years, Verdão has won 13 trophies compared to nine for Corinthians, Santos and São Paulo combined in the same period.

In 2023, the Alviverde team won the Supercoppa, Campeonato Paulista and Campeonato Brasileiro cups.
