The former Internazionale changes team in MLS

Ruan Teixeira, who was in the MLS for five seasons, left DC United for CF Montréal, from Canada

Former Internacional player Ruan Teixeira has a new home in MLS. After all, the 28-year-old right back left DC United for CF Montréal. During the negotiation the Brazilian was involved in an exchange. While he left the American capital team to play for the Canadian team, defender Aaron Herrera took the opposite path. Additionally, CF Montréal received US$500,000 (approximately R$2.4 million) for the transaction.

In his first words as a reinforcement for Montreal, Ruan praised the new challenge in his career and praised the structure of the franchise.

“Defending a club the size of Montreal is an important step in my career. The team can be sure that I will give my all on and off the pitch, always trying to win trophies with the franchise. I know I will count on a great structure around me which will allow me to maintain my high level in MLS,” he said.

“We are very satisfied with the acquisition of Ruan, one of the best right-backs in the MLS,” said CF Montréal vice-president and sporting director Olivier Renard.

After spending time in Rio de Janeiro football, like Madureira, for example, Ruan Teixeira gained prominence by wearing the Internacional shirt. Subsequently, before being sold to international football, he spent a period at Ponte Preta.

In early 2019, Ruan went to Orlando City (four seasons with the South Florida team), starting his MLS journey. Thus, in the competition, he has already played 147 games, with four goals and 18 assists. In his last team, he played 29 games for DC United, 15 as a starter, with five assists.
