New on Prime Video: Discover the return of Kim Cattrall (Samantha) in Sex and the City Sequel

It is one of the most iconic series of the 1990s: it emphasized charismatic and identifiable characters, destroyed conversations about female sexuality and created crazy sartorial obsessions.

Darren Starr’s Sex and the City is still a show that can be watched and enjoyed even if it is dated at certain points. The series, which ran from 1998 to 2004, featured four actresses whose roles remain with them today: Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie Bradshaw), Kristin Davis (Charlotte York), Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbs) and Kim Cattrall (Samantha Jones).

A little less than twenty years after the end of the series – and two films! – A sequel has been released, titled And Just Like That…. This new fiction offers a poignant, irreverent, and sometimes thrilling look at love, sex, and friendship in New York City 50 years later.

There we find our famous group of women who have to face the pain of growing old, the passage of time, marriages that turn into divorce, children growing up, social pressures to look good and succeed…

The only problem: Kim Cattrall didn’t want to reprise her role as Samantha Jones due to personal differences with the team. Carrie, Charlotte and Miranda are without Samantha and have new friends in the movie and just like that…

But for the second season of the series, which launches today on Prime Video with Warner Pass, a little miracle happened! Indeed, the actor agreed to make a small appearance there to delight the fans.

The surprise cameo unfortunately fell through before the episode aired, disappointing the rest of the cast, but Kim Cattrall’s return as Samantha Jones was welcomed by fans.

Although it’s a brief appearance, Samantha’s return to the Sex & the City universe seems like a nice treat for fans. Will he make a bigger cameo in the already-ordered Season 3 of And Just Like That? In the meantime, you can catch the second round of episodes on Prime Video.
