Palmeiras hopes to renew Mayke’s contract until 2025


The club awaits the green light from the right back to seal a new agreement; the current contract expires in December 2024




Right back Mayke is very close to renewing his contract with Palmeiras. After all, the club has presented a new deal that will last until December 2025 and expects the 31-year-old player to give a positive signal in the coming days. The contract, still in force, expires at the end of 2024.

Unlike other years in which he supported Marcos Rocha on the wing, even if he was improvised on the right wing of the attack by Abel Ferreira, 2023 saw Mayke as one of the flagships of the team that won the Paulistão, the Brazilian Super Cup and the Brasileirão.

Furthermore, this was the season in which he had the most performances with Verdão. In total he appeared on the pitch 58 times, with two goals and eight assists.

Mayke arrived at the Palestinian club in 2017 on loan from Cruzeiro. After winning the Brazilian championship ten times the following year and presenting a performance that pleased the management, the Alviverde team was purchased permanently.

The full-back, in fact, won the Copa do Brasil (2020), Campeonato Paulista (2020 and 2022), Copa Libertadores (2020 and 2021), Recopa Sul-Americana (2022) and Campeonato Brasileiro (2022) titles with Palmeiras. . . He recently revealed that his dream is to win the Club World Cup wearing the Alviverde shirt.

While negotiating the renewal of important members of the squad, Palmeiras is strengthening itself for 2024. After signing midfielder Aníbal Moreno from Racing-ARG, the management is looking for a defender, a midfielder and two attackers.

The efforts, however, are concentrated on midfielder Cauly. Bahia, however, demands the value of its fine of 50 million euros (R$269.5 million, at current exchange rates).
