The city of Nyon, Switzerland, will be the center of attention in European football this Monday. The draw for the round of 16 matches of the current edition of Champions Leaguethe most prestigious club tournament in the world.

The 16 best teams in Europe, who made it through the group stage, look forward to discovering their opponents in the next stage. The draw, which will be held at the headquarters of of UEFA in Nyon, promises to be exciting.

The participating teams will be divided into two groups: one for the group winners and one for the runners-up. The competition regulations provide two fundamental rules: no team can face a club from the same group, or from the same country, in this knockout stage. From the quarter-finals onwards this rule loses its validity.

Manchester City and Real Madrid are the two teams that achieved a perfect performance, with 100% success. In addition to these two clubs, four other teams reach the knockout stage without knowing what it means to lose. They are: Bayern Munich, Real Sociedad, Internazionale and Atlético de Madrid. Spain leads in terms of representation, with four teams, followed by Italy and Germany, each with three representatives.
