Netflix: What are the most watched series of the week? The first establishes its law!

Number 1: Pax Massilia

A group of police officers use special methods to track down a dangerous criminal in order to prevent bloodshed in Marseille.

AlloCiné Viewer Rating: 3.4/5

According to Lia (5/5):

A great French police action series. This is 100% Marchal and I love it! A great cast with “faces” and very charismatic actors, all playing their roles well. From the first episode we are thrown right into the mix and the episodes follow each other because it is so addictive. Violent, raw and very enjoyable to watch! The best!

According to Jean N (3/5):

Finally we’ll say good Olivier Marshall with faces (always the same….) fighting and thugs in BAC NORD!!

According to Laurent Gay (2.5/5)

The series is in the same register as the film Bac Nord. The big difference is that in Buck Nord there were real dialogues in the police team, it was primarily a story of brotherhood. In this series, the police talk to each other like robots. That being said, this series is super violent, isn’t it restrained, buzzing in violence? Sure, it’s rhythmic, but with a very ordinary script, nothing special about it, the cops are superheroes, the bad guys are super bosses, we’re very far from cult series like Engrenages or Braquo.

why does it work

With his ex-cop hat on, Olivier Marshall knows the recipe for a tense, muscular and spectacular thriller. He’s reprising it with Pax Massilia, his new series and the first he’s signed to Netflix. Setting its story in the northern districts of Marseille, it guarantees the audience a sensational experience with colorful characters. In the casting, he takes well-known faces from the big and small screen (Nicolas Duvachel, Tewfik Jellab, Samir Boitar) and are already well-identified in the thriller genre.

Number 2: Crown

Prince William tries to rebuild his life at Eton after his mother’s death, while the monarchy faces the wrath of public opinion. As she prepares to celebrate her golden jubilee, the Queen is reflecting on the future of the monarchy ahead of Charles and Camilla’s upcoming wedding and William and Kate’s royal romance.

AlloCiné Viewer Rating: 4.3/5

According to Solid S (5/5)

Netflix’s crown jewel. Everything is top notch, be it casting, set, visual effects, music. The writing of the episodes is impeccable and gives us a monumental mural of one of the greatest characters in our history, but also his family. Exciting without being boring, The Crown is a very high quality discreet series on every level, the likes of which we rarely see these days.

According to Stephanie Renulin (5/5)

The best season in my eyes. With nameless emotion, I have never cried so much for a TV series. Thank you for managing to convey to us the enormous drama of the royal family through these images, and you were able to feel the immense pain of William and Harry. The Crown is a really great series.

According to Christine D (4/5)

It’s a great season but so many stories are missing and it’s a shame. Despite this, I really enjoyed every episode, Imelda Staunton and Jonathan Pryce excelled in their roles. The young actor who plays William looks a lot like his model and the one who plays Harry is also great. Some fun in the acting part. The story told is also well-crafted, but lacks entire sections that we would like to see.

why does it work

Peter Morgan went back to basics to say goodbye. After a rather brutal season 5 and the first part of season 6, it again focuses on Queen Elizabeth and the final years of her reign. By his own admission, he changed the script for Season 6 after the death of Elizabeth II in September 2022.

In this way, it offers a worthy conclusion to the first seasons of The Crown, and fans did not fall behind in the meeting to say goodbye to one of the best series of Netflix. Meticulously shot, superbly shot and acted, The Crown succeeds in its release and thus enters the circle of great series with a finale full of restraint and grandeur.

Number 3: My Life with the Walter Boys

After losing her family in an accident, 15-year-old Jackie Howard, a young girl from Manhattan, must adjust to a new life in Colorado with her guardian – and 10 very rowdy boys.

AlloCiné Viewer Rating: 3.9/5

According to Bebe-blonde (5/5):

“Teenage comedy, the way we like it. It’s well done, we have a good time, we connect with the characters. It feels good. I hope there’s a second season!”

According to Chantal Brockin (5/5):

“I liked it, but I’m still a long way from being a teenager. The sets are great. The cast, the director Jason Priestley (Brandon of Beverly Hills) is great. I was happy to find Sarah Rafferty (who played the secretary in Suits on Netflix). I can’t wait to see season 2. “

According to Lily (1/5):

“Not believable at all! I quickly gave up because just a few months after losing my entire family, here is this new and jaded teenager going about her life like everyone else with normal worries!”

why does it work

It’s an end-of-the-year series that feels good, doesn’t take your breath away, and brings balm to your heart. Adapted from the bestselling novel, My Life with the Walter Boys is romantic fiction with the striking and charismatic cast and idyllic setting of The Summer I Became Pretty and Virgin River.

All the ingredients come together for a good time: an independent heroine full of dreams with a difficult journey, a complicated but enriching family context, friendly and romantic twists and an impossible romance for a young woman in love with two brothers. They completely contradict each other. !

Number 4: Yu Yu Hakusho

His favorite dish? Ramen. His favorite weapon? A spiritual weapon. A rebellious teenager must learn to use his new powers to save himself.

AlloCiné Viewer Rating: 3.6 out of 5

According to lia (5 out of 5):

“Great news! Honestly, I haven’t loved Alice in Wonderland since the Japanese series. Here we are dealing with pure visual madness. The special effects are of super quality and the images are excellent. The scenes from the fights are well choreographed and spectacular. In addition, the protagonist is cute and the actress, who plays him is very believable. In short, a really successful live action punt.”

According to Sufiane Roknedin (4.5 out of 5):

“A very good adaptation of the original work. The atmosphere, the settings, the dramatic themes, everything is there. The choreography is also impressive. A very pleasant surprise!”

Missouri, according to s. (2.5 out of 5):

“The plot is too cut. It would have been better to do 8-10 or even 13 episodes before the tournament ends, or at worst, before entering the demon world. Then make a second season starting from the demon world. The story is too sloppy, if you don’t know the manga, you don’t have time to get attached to the characters.”

why does it work

This summer, Netflix managed to achieve the impossible by offering a live-action adaptation of the successful One Piece manga. A few months later, the platform attempted to adapt the essay with Yu Yu Hakusho, a live-action TV series inspired by Yoshihiro Togashi’s popular manga.

A teen fighting series with supernatural elements, this program of just five episodes, directed by a Japanese cast, offers a clever mix of humor and action. Aimed at an audience unfamiliar with the original work, the series also offers plenty of eye candy for early fans!

Number 5: Knokke Off: Golden Youth

Knokke Off: Golden Youth

During a hectic summer on the Belgian coast, a group of wealthy friends face the harsh realities of adulthood, the struggle between love and societal pressures.

AlloCiné Viewer Rating: 3.1/5

According to Salinger (4.5/5):

The series is a satirical and deadpan portrait of the rich children’s elite. It explores themes of family, ambition and corruption. For my part, I liked it.

According to Laurent Gay (4/5):

This series shows the depravity of rich kids, their shame, their spleen, while the parents buy a few million paintings and get 200 euros to pay their babysitter. Amazingly well played, the story is interesting. This series brings together rich and poor kids at the same time. The photo is beautiful, the actors are amazingly realistic, rhythmic, sunny. An intelligent series reminiscent of a film without a filter, the 2022 Palme d’Or in Cannes. A very pleasant surprise.

According to Harry6489 (4/5):

This series tells the story of a group of young people from the Belgian bourgeoisie who spend the summer in the seaside resort of Knokke-Heist. The series is really well written. Themes of love, friendship, family and social class are part of this fiction. It presents the golden Belgian youth, its excesses and contradictions. The plot is fun and full of twists and surprises. The series is visually very successful. The settings of Knokke-Heist are beautiful and the photography is neat. The characters of Golden Youth are often depicted as caricatures, but all series, on the theme of social differences, are.

why does it work

There are series that reach the top, a bit unexpectedly, because there was no promotion beforehand. This is the case of Knokke Off: Golden Youth, a 10-episode Flemish production that seems to be gaining popularity through word of mouth. It must be said that it fulfills all the criteria of functioning on the platform: attractive pitch, rich teenagers with problems, love and sex…
