Disney intends to revive the legacy of “The X-Files”, one of the most popular series that the company acquired from the catalog of the former Fox television division and which, according to the Bloomberg agency, is working with director Ryan Coogler. of “Black Panther,” in a reboot of the classic ’90s series.
Coogler would serve as the producer of the new version, which has no other names or a known development timeline attached yet.
Originally created by Chris Carter, “The X-Files” was released in 1993 and became a public phenomenon as it followed the mysterious investigations of FBI agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson). The two worked in a disreputable division of the agency dedicated to unexplained cases of supernatural or alien events.
The series had nine seasons until 2001, produced two films, in 1998 and 2008, and also had a two-season sequel in 2016 and 2018.
All productions of the franchise are available on the Star+ platform.
