Should not culture benefit from a sovereign ministry?

Culture should be a priority concern because it is essential for the development of each person. But to access culture you have to live and not survive like the 9 million people living below the poverty line in this country that is still rich. As long as culture is a market in a capitalist society, it will remain only for the elites and for those who still have the means to go to the cinema, to the theater, and even to travel around the world.

Is cinema necessarily a political art? What inspires your recovery that can be done around a job like the recent “Bac Nord”?

I think that any writing, any work, any film is necessarily political because it is a part of society that is marked by social divisions, inequality, injustice; A society that conveys its dominant values, its taboos, taboos, the flow of majority thought … When an artist engages in the creation of a work, whatever it may be, he is imbued with all of this, even though he wants to separate. Whether he wants to be in opposition or not even think about it. I personally did not go to the cinema to see Buck Nord. So I can only talk about what I know: the police violence perpetrated against young people in the districts, the racism that exists in this body of state repression, the information that is known to the public.

Do movies and TV series, among other things, have a call, in your opinion, to help “cross the lines” in social issues (parity, diversity, etc.)?

Cinematic works or series such as novels and literature can, in my opinion, evoke all sorts of themes. They reflect the concerns of the time in which they were created. And I fully understand that filmmakers want to use this means of expression to fight against prejudice, to advance progressive ideas.

Candidate … and spectator

If we have to name a movie or TV series for this campaign …
Patrice Leconte’s ridiculousness. In many ways, this campaign is ridiculous. And also because the film tells the story of the end of a parasitic social class that was finally overthrown by a revolution.

If the title of a movie or TV series should be given to your program…
Another World by Stephen Bryce

A copy of a movie or series that inspires …
“The world is divided into two categories, those who hold guns and those who dig.” (Clint Eastwood in the movie Good, Bad and Ugly)

Movie / Series Character to Inspire…
Norma Ray, the protagonist of the film of the same name, because she is a woman, a worker who discovers that it is possible to organize, white workers and black workers together. By discovering a collective struggle, the whole world opens up to him. Thanks to his courage and diligence, he manages to juggle family life and responsibilities by involving loved ones in battle.

For which the President·E would you vote for the screen?
None because they are like all presidents and because I am fighting to change this system.

The best political film?
Françoise Davis’s Comme des Lions, as she demonstrates all the opportunities and resources that can enable workers of all nationalities to fight together for their dignity and their lives.

The best political TV series?
Le Bureau des Légendes, for immersion in the world of espionage and for Matthias Kasowitz.

Your first memory as a spectator?
In the late 1980s, I remember being particularly featured in an episode film called The Holocaust, which told the story of Nazism, the policies of extermination of the Jewish and Roma populations, as well as people with disabilities. This made me deeply angry and outraged.

Your cult movie?
By the young Karl Marx by Raul Peck

Your cult TV series?
Mill, a British mini-series about the Industrial Revolution and the struggle of chartist workers. I was very impressed by the courage of these working-class women and men who managed to organize themselves to defend their right to vote and to exist. Many of the problems they faced then and the ways to solve them are a real lesson for us today in the fight against the injustices of capitalism.

Your latest movie / TV series?
This is not the latest film, but I just saw Emmanuel Bercott’s film La Fille de Brest, a film that condemns the mediator scandal, the dictation of pharmaceutical trusts protected by their patent privacy, and secret advertising. The co-operation of state agencies, which are nevertheless responsible for controlling the quality and effectiveness of medicines. This film also tells the story of Dr. Irene Frashon’s courage and stubbornness throughout the entire team.

Working or thinking about music for a movie / series?
Amy movie music because I love Amy Winehouse songs.
