Control your car on the Renault network and travel with complete peace of mind on holiday

Dealers have fixed prices and a one-year warranty on parts and service

The end-of-year holidays have arrived and with them the time to carry out a complete overhaul of your Renault before setting off on the road. Checking safety components such as tyres, brakes, shock absorbers and headlights can be carried out at the brand’s dealer network.

Spare parts and services have a one-year guarantee, overhauls from 10,000 to 120,000 kilometers have a fixed price throughout the country and free check-ups on over 40 items, bringing the advantage of a safer journey thanks to the use of items originals and the security of leaving all care in the hands of Renault specialists.

Pay attention to the “safety triangle”

During a holiday inspection, checking the tires is a good start, as they are the only point of contact between the car and the road, as well as being part of the ‘safety triangle’, along with the brakes and shock absorbers. It is important to observe if their wear is irregular or if it has reached the limit indicated on the TWI, those marks around the tread that indicate the minimum depth of the grooves (1.6 millimetres). For safety we recommend changing from 4mm deep. And check the calibration once a week, because underinflated tires increase fuel consumption.

Alignment and balancing services are also essential to prevent uneven tire wear. Be sure to do them, especially if you notice the car pulling to one side or the steering wheel shaking on the road.

The brakes need attention due to the natural wear of the pads and shoes. They cost little and, if changed in time, avoid premature replacement of discs and drums. Brake inspection is recommended every 20,000 kilometers.

You should also check your brake fluid regularly. Essential for the correct functioning of the system, it needs to be replaced every four years or 40,000 kilometres. Just like table salt, brake fluid absorbs moisture from the air. The pedal becomes “rubbery” and stopping distances increase.

Shock absorbers are the third element of the “safety triangle”. They complement the work of the springs and prevent the body from shaking uncontrollably. They are what guarantee the stability, comfort and safety of the vehicle, especially on sections with curves and rough terrain.

Frequent shaking of the suspension, when the car goes over bumps and obstacles, are signs that the shock absorbers have lost their effectiveness. It is recommended to change them every 80 thousand kilometers.

Wiper blades and headlights always updated

Reeds suffer greatly from exposure to sun, dust and sea air. With increased rainfall this time of year, you need to keep things in order. Genuine Renault blades are flat and quieter, adapt to the surface of the windscreen and improve the effectiveness of each wiper pass. Replacement is recommended every six months.

Even the headlights cannot escape a check before putting the car on the road. At the Renault dealer network it is possible to adjust the high and low beams, check the operation of the system and replace burnt out bulbs.
