The Crown bids farewell after an underwhelming 6th season. But the Netflix historical series managed to recover with Part 2 and a few moments of grace, like the final episode, which sees the return of two of Queen Elizabeth’s previous interpreters.
Episode 8 also had its own little twist as it featured the death of the former monarch’s sister, Margaret. The series skilfully played between the past and the present, taking us to 1945, during the Allied victory over Nazi Germany.
There we meet young Elizabeth, then 19 years old. She is not yet married to Philip and will not ascend the throne for 6 years.
To play the princess, the team of The Crown chose the English actress Viola Pretejon. And at first glance, we notice a striking resemblance between the latter and Claire Foy, who played the role of the queen in the first two seasons: with big blue eyes and a baby face, the actress made an impression, which proves it.
