Released direct-to-video in France in 2017, this thriller deserves much better than to go unnoticed in the Amazon Prime Video catalog. Give it a chance, you won’t regret it!
Story
Businessman Adrian Doria wakes up in a hotel next to the dead body of his mistress, Laura. The accused goes to court and hires a great lawyer to find out what happened. Except the noose tightens because the prosecution has an undercover witness who could put Adrian behind bars for a long time!
Amazon also hosted one of the most exciting movies of the year!

The film is called The Accused and it is such a clever thriller that it has been adapted in South Korea (Confession), a country known for its well-crafted thrillers, as well as in India (Badla).
The accused is directed by the Spanish Oriol Paulo, who specializes in thrillers and investigations. So it is not surprising that he was seduced by this story. The setup is simple: in a hotel room, Adrian tells his entire journey and story to his lawyer in preparation for the trial, and flashbacks tell his story.
And… it’s hard to say more because it’s a mystery film where the audience is left wondering about the protagonist’s innocence and guilt as his story unfolds before his eyes. The staging is sensible and gives everyone time to focus on the facts. The film ends brilliantly, with a stunning conclusion that brilliantly wraps up this fascinating story from start to finish.
Always with this question in mind: Should I believe this character?
