Rubro-Negro will play three matches at the start of the competition outside Rio de Janeiro, the first of which will take place against Audax at the Arena da Amazônia
After a frustrating year, Flamengo remains active in the transfer market and plans for next season. Rubro-Negro will therefore play four Campeonato Carioca matches in other states, something confirmed by Ferj. Furthermore, the state body also finalized the date and time of Tite’s men’s debut in the competition.
The Rio team will start the competition as the home team, but the duel against Audax will be played in Manaus. The clash is therefore scheduled for January 17, at the Arena da Amazônia, at 9.30pm (Brasilia time). This happens because the Maracana pitch will undergo maintenance work in January.
Immediately after their debut, the Rossoneri team will travel to Orlando, Florida, where they will play a friendly match against the hosts on January 27th.
On the second day, the 21st, Rubro-Negro will face Nova Iguaçu at the Estádio Almeidão, in João Pessoa, at 6.10pm. Finally, in the 4th round, on the 27th, Flamengo’s opponent will be Portuguesa-RJ, at the Arena das Dunas, in Natal, at 6.10pm. In the ranking published by Ferj, until then, only Rubro-Negro will play outside Rio de Janeiro on these three dates.
