Prime Video: How to enable audio description on movies and series on the platform!

One of the biggest challenges for streaming platforms is inclusion. Of all the issues involved, audio description is at the top of the most essential options to provide visually impaired or blind people access to this catalog of services.

An audio description consists of a description of the action taking place on the screen. This setting is not automatic and its availability varies depending on each content, its original version and the country of origin of the program.

Prime Video is one platform that offers this option. Unfortunately, not all programs offered by the platform offer audio description, but here’s how to find out which programs the service supports.

First of all, you need to log in to your Prime Video account, enter your login email and password to access the main screen. The search tab can display programs that offer audio description, but the results page only provides a short list of relevant content.

To find out if a movie or series offers audio description, just click on the program in question. Logo AD))) A summary of the content that provides this option is then shown (see above). To activate it, just start playing the program, then go to the language settings (at the top of the screen) and select it “French”.

However, it should be noted that a large number of programs that display the Audiodescription logo only offer this option in a foreign language (most often English). This makes it difficult for the platform to search for audio-described content. So we can only hope that Prime Video improves this aspect of the service in the coming months!
